When I heard about the grand opening of Honeysuckle Holler in Hendersonville, I knew I had to check it out—and trust me, it didn’t disappoint! From the moment I walked into the warm, rustic-chic space, I could tell this wasn’t your average honkytonk. With its exposed brick, industrial touches, and a dreamy vibe that says “country meets cool,” Honeysuckle Holler is everything Hendersonville needed and more.

I even got to sit down with the mastermind herself, Amy, and hear the story behind her incredible new space. Spoiler alert: it’s a tale of determination, southern charm, and a whole lot of passion.

The Inspiration

When I asked Amy what sparked her dream to open Honeysuckle Holler, her face lit up with excitement. "I’ve been thinking about it for five years," she shared. Amy’s love for country dancing started at Coyote Joe’s in Charlotte, where she spent over a decade mastering line dances, country swing, and a little bit of two-step. She tried to move to Hendersonville six years ago, but her dancing heart couldn’t let go of Charlotte.

I couldn’t fully commit to Hendersonville unless I had a place to dance,” Amy said. And when no one else opened that space, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

With the clock ticking on her self-imposed five-year deadline, Amy got to work. She teamed up with local realtor Laiken Moore in March 2024 and scoured the area for the perfect spot. When they first toured the current location, Amy was convinced it was too small—“No way,” she laughed, recalling her initial reaction. But after stepping inside and seeing the exposed brick and industrial touches, she realized it was the perfect blank canvas for her vision of a "country chic" nightlife spot.

Not Your Typical Honkytonk

Amy was clear from the start—Honeysuckle Holler wouldn’t be your run-of-the-mill honkytonk. “I wanted something different from the usual neon signs, taxidermy, and… well, you know the rest,” she said with a laugh. Instead, she’s created a space where you can grab a beer or one of their signature craft cocktails, hit the dance floor, or hang out with friends.

And while it’s all about the dancing on the weekends, Amy also has big plans to host private events in the future. A space that doubles as a nightlife hotspot and a chic event venue? Yes, please!

Why the Name Honeysuckle Holler?

Of course, I had to ask about the name—it’s so catchy that I was instantly obsessed. Amy told me she wanted something fun and alliterative, and “honeysuckle” kept coming to mind. Growing up, she and her sister loved snacking on honeysuckle straight from the bushes in their yard. Even now, Amy makes a point to stop by a particular patch of honeysuckle on her daily dog walks—it’s a little taste of summer nostalgia she couldn’t resist.

After running through a few combinations, she landed on Honeysuckle Holler—a name that perfectly captures the playful, southern charm of the space.
